Tyson Foods Inc.'s chief financial officer was arrested on Sunday for public intoxication and criminal trespassing.

According to the Washington County, Arkansas, sheriff's department, John R. Tyson, 32, was arrested early Sunday. Later that day, he was released.

Tyson was discovered sleeping in a woman's bed in her home on Sunday morning, according to KNWA Fox 24. She had no idea who he was and had called the police.

"We're aware of the incident, and because this is a personal matter, we have no additional comment," a company spokesman, Derek Burleson, said in an email.

Tyson was promoted to CFO on October 2. He is the son of board Chairman John H. Tyson and a fourth-generation Tyson family member.

This comes just a week before John R. Tyson, the company's new CFO, was set to address investors for the first time during earnings on Nov. 14.

Tyson Foods is the second company in the food industry to have an executive arrested in recent months. Beyond Meat Inc. suspended its chief operating officer, who previously worked for Tyson for three decades, in September after he allegedly bit a man's nose.
